6This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. Psalms 24:6
In my generation an issue has evident. Many young adults (18-35) have left the church or are in search of the "right church". What are we seeking to find though? We want a place where we can grow. We don't want to follow rules based on man's traditions. We have been wounded by the words of fellow believers so we want a place where we can be healed. We don't want to attend a "dead legalist" church that can't garner the presence of God. We want to be refreshed and fed the word of God. We want the truth not religion. The list goes on and on.
The question must be asked what is the point of Church? If there are so many problems why do we go? I remember going to a church where people attended just to network with others to increase their business. I been to a church where the preacher would say don't have permarital sex but I knew the people he was sleeping with and he was not married. I was told I was not going to heaven by numerous "saints" who knew nothing about me but felt they could judge me by their rules of righteousness. I have seen first hand the corruption that goes on behind the closed doors of churches. But why do I faithfully continue to go? It does not make sense. If I have seen so much that was not perfect why not join my generation and just leave the church?
The answer is simple. God had to reveal to me that He has placed me in the church not to be served but to serve. I don't go to church so that I can receive a fresh word from God. I go to share the word of God. I go to encourage not be encouraged. I don't submit myself to the church I submit myself to God. People see Christ through our submission to Him not man. I can see so many things wrong with the church but I wrestle not against flesh and blood (man). The only way things can change in the church is when I change. When I lay down my life (like Christ did) for the church. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. While we yet see the problems in the church we must humble ourselves so that Christ can be seen through us. It is not until we humble ourselves in front of one another that the True Church can arise in our hearts. The church does not need anymore bright ideas or new methods it needs individuals that will walk in humility so that God can mend the wounds of the church.
God has placed you in your church to share Christ to world. Don't fight against the rules and church but submit yourself to God for only He has the ability to transform a dead church to a spirit filled body. Remember that church is not your life source, God is. Stop looking for church to meet your needs and seek the face of God(intimate relationship with God). The power comes not on Sunday but through our daily encounters with Jesus. We can't reach our divine destiny in God until we humble ourselves to God's placement and allow Him to move us not us move ourselves to where we want to go. He does not want us to worship a church building but Him. In this day let us commit ourselves back to Him and allow Him to place us in position in the body of Christ. Every body part serves the body part they are connected to. So much more to say. lol God bless you.
This is talking to married couples but it correlates to us and the church as well.
21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. 22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Ephesians 5:21-25
