For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Proverbs 24:16
My oldest son came home the other day and told me that he fell while playing football with other boys. He said that it hurt but he got up and started playing again. When I was a child I fell all the time. I fell out of a tree (that hurt), I fell off my bike (that always hurt), I fell playing sports. But every time I fell I got back up and kept playing.
In our lives as we grow and mature situations occur that sometimes cause us to fall or stumble. Mistakes are always present when we are learning something new. It is apart of the process of growing. The enemy wants us concentrate on the pain the fall causes. He wants us to wallow in our mistake. But God wants us to get up and persevere through our mistake and keep living. Life has its ups and downs but what distinguishes those that are great is their ability to move forward. We can’t change our mistakes but we can get up and leave our failure in the past. Our mistake will not leave us we have to leave it. Falling does not define us, God does. We have to permit God’s Grace and Mercy to transform our failures into success stories. When we are in the lowest pit God’s Arm of Redemption is waiting to draw us out of our mess and bring us into His Presence not to condemn us but to cleanse us. God forgets our sins when we repent and receive His Grace. God will make our mistake into a testimony of His Saving Power if we allow Him.
If you have fallen and you feel like you can’t get up. Repent (Turn to God) and cry out to Him. He will redeem you. He will restore you and He will save you. Don’t let your mistakes and failures to keep you from enjoying a life made more abundant in Christ. Christ loves you and desires to shower you with His grace but you have to receive it. The choice is yours. Stay in the pit of failure that condemns binding you in your fears or get out by the Grace of God and enjoy a life free from condemnation and fear. You can begin again. God bless you.
