Walking on a rocky road.

A lot of times I can lose my way by following someone else’s path. Their path seems smooth and tried while mine is rocky and long. I have found that no matter how many times I try to walk the path of others I never get to where I want to be. No matter how far I stray from my path all I have to do to find it is turn around. It would be nice to walk on a paved road. It would be nice to travel on a road that is fast and easy, but what happens when I get to place of the person I followed. They are home but where they live is not my home and they don’t want me to move in with them.

Every step I take on my path is painful, yet it brings me closer to the place I can call home. It may not be pretty it may take a little longer to get there but it will be worth it in the end.

I am inspired and encouraged by others expressing their gifts and talents. No matter how great they are I can not do what they do and be successful. True success is within me. Only I can reach my full potential. I am learning to appreciate the greatness in others but also recognize the greatness in me. That keeps me focused on the path before me. It may be painful and lonely but I am well equipped to travel this road.

Commit to your path. Only you can walk it.
